Applying to Run an Auction House

What the application asks, how it is reviewed, and what happens if it is not accepted.

An auction house joins Crossroad Sellers by applying under I run an auction house, the second tab of the Create Your Account page at login.crossroadsellers.com (the platform's front page links to it as Register Your Auction House). The form asks for the house's name and the legal name for invoices, a web address of its own on the platform, its timezone, the business address, phone and email, any auctioneer or business licence number, and who the administrator will be.

Already have an account — as a bidder, say? Sign in first (the link is on the form), and your existing login becomes the house's owner: no second login, no new password, and nothing about you is asked again except your phone. A platform staff login cannot own a house.

Review

After you submit, the site says so and emails you a receipt: your application is in the queue. Every application is read by a person, not a machine, and you hear back by email within 24 business hours (Monday to Friday). Nothing is public until it is approved. When it is, the administrator is emailed and the house's site is live at its own address, ready for the setup steps in the owners' section of this help.

If It Is Not Accepted

The administrator is emailed the reason, written by the reviewer: what was missing, or what would change the answer, such as a licence number, a business address that can be verified, or a phone number that reaches someone. There is no bare refusal. A house can apply again once that is sorted.

Platform staff can approve or turn away an application straight from the email that tells them about it, so a decision often comes back the same day. Nothing about your house is public until they do.
