Sharing an Auction or a Lot
Every auction and lot has share buttons. Copy the link, or send it straight to Facebook, X, WhatsApp, email or a text; the link unfurls with a photo wherever you paste it.
Under an auction's title, and in the box beside a lot's price, is a Share row.
- Copy Link puts the address on your clipboard and says Copied!. Paste it anywhere.
- Facebook, X, WhatsApp and Email open that app with the post or message already written: the lot's title, the current bid and when it ends, and the auction house's name. Change the words before you send if you like.
- On a phone, a Share button comes first and opens your phone's own share sheet (Messages, AirDrop, whatever you have); the rest are behind More, and a text message option appears too.
Wherever the link lands, it shows as a card with the lot's main photo, its title and the auction house, so the person you sent it to knows what they are looking at before they tap. The card never carries the price: previews get saved by those services for days and a price would go stale. The price is live on the page itself.
Anyone can open a shared link; they are asked to sign in or register only when they go to bid. An auction that has ended and a lot that has sold can still be shared: the card says so, with the hammer price where the house shows them.
The auction house can see how many times its auctions were shared and by which route, never who shared them.
