Soft Close: Bids in the Last Minutes

A bid in the final window extends that lot, and only that lot.

Each auction house sets a closing window, typically the last two minutes of a lot. A bid placed inside that window pushes the lot's closing time back so the other bidders get a fair chance to answer. This can repeat as long as bidding continues.

Only the lot that received the bid is extended. The lots after it keep their published times, so a lot in overtime can overlap with the next one closing. Keep an eye on both countdowns if you are bidding on neighbouring lots.

The extension is decided by the server, not by the countdown on your screen, so refreshing the page always shows the real deadline.
