Getting started
- Step 1: Set Up Your House — Everything an auction house sets once before its first auction, in the order to do it: profile, money settings, bidding increments, terms of sale, payouts and verification, your team.
Setting up
- Your House's Profile — The public About page and the details on invoices, labels and reminders: names, tagline, bio, contact, address, hours, licence. Steps and what each field is used for.
- Your House's Logo — Upload and crop the house logo; where it shows and how to remove it.
- Premium, Tax, Soft Close and the Other Settings — Every field on Settings (the Money section): buyer's premium, sales tax and what it is charged on, seconds between lots, the soft-close window and extension, categories. And where the card, phone and limit rules live.
- Bidding Increments — What a ladder is, editing the house default, adding a ladder for coins or vehicles, and choosing one for an auction or a single lot.
- Terms of Sale — Writing the house's own terms: premium, payment deadline, pickup rules, defaults, condition disclaimers. Bidders accept the current version when they register.
- Getting Verified to Sell — The two steps a house completes before its first auction can publish: the owner's identity check and payout onboarding. The red banner, suspension, and what platform staff can do.
- Google and Other Search Engines — What your site tells search engines, what is kept out, and how to get your own view in Search Console. Nothing to switch on.
- Show Your Auctions on Your Own Website — Settings, Website display. Paste one line into your own website and it shows your auctions, with photos and prices, in your site's colours. Choose what it shows (all auctions, lots closing soonest, the newest auction, one you pick) and what it looks like. Customers click a lot to bid on it here.
Money
- Managing Consignors — Adding a consignor with their reference and commission, editing them, importing a list, and giving one online access to their own lots and statements. Owner only.
- Setting Up Payouts — Card payments land in an account that belongs to your house; Stripe onboarding sets it up and verifies the business. Steps, status, and what is stored where.
- Amazon Pay for Your House — Buyers can pay invoices with Amazon Pay through the same processor and into the same payout account. How it is switched on, what you pay, and the two things that differ from a card payment: Amazon's buyer guarantee and a 90-day refund window.
- How the Money Flows — From a buyer's card or cash to your bank and your consignors, and what the platform keeps: the whole path in order.
- The Platform Fee and Your Monthly Bill — The fee is a share of the buyer's premium, kept back on card payments and billed monthly for the rest. What the bill contains and how it is paid.
Your team
- Your Team: Staff and Administrators — Inviting people, what Staff and Admin can each do, the second factor everyone needs, removing someone, and what the owner alone can do.
- Phones Signed in to the App — Every phone signed in to the cataloguing app, and how to sign out a lost one.
- Security — What protects the house: second factors, session limits, lost phones, departures, passwords and the audit log. What to do in each case.
- Mailing List Settings — The reminders that go out by themselves, who is on the list, and adding addresses. Steps.
- Platform Staff and Platform Support — Who runs Crossroad Sellers itself, what they can see of your house, and the difference between platform staff and platform support. Neither is ever part of your team.
- Approving Auctions Your Staff Create — Owner approval: turning it on, what happens when staff publish, reviewing an auction on its public page, and the three decisions.
