Pickup or Shipping

Some lots must be collected, some can ship, and you choose on the invoice when both are possible.

Every auction says whether its lots can be shipped, picked up, or either. A single lot can be narrower than its auction: a piece of furniture in an auction of coins is pickup only, and the lot page says so before you bid.

Steps

  1. Open your invoice once the auction has closed.
  2. If it asks How will you get your items?, choose Pickup or Ship and Confirm. You can Change it until something has shipped.
  3. For pickup, the invoice shows the address, days and hours. For shipping, you are emailed the tracking number when the house enters it.

Choosing

If everything on your invoice can go either way, the invoice page asks you to choose. If any lot on it is pickup only, the whole invoice is pickup. Once something has shipped the choice is fixed.

Pickup

The invoice shows the address, the pickup days and hours, and your balance. You get a reminder email as the pickup window approaches. Bring a photo ID; some houses ask for the invoice number. When the house hands your items over, you get an email saying they were picked up and when. If you did not collect them, reply to it straight away.

Shipping

The house packs and ships, and enters the tracking number on your invoice. You are emailed the moment it is entered. Shipping charges, if any, are added to the invoice by the house before it ships.
