The Crossroad Sellers App for Your Phone

The iPhone app does everything the website does for a bidder — browse, register, bid, watch, pay, alerts on your lock screen — with the same login and the same rules.

The Crossroad Sellers app is the whole bidding experience on an iPhone, with five tabs along the bottom — Browse, Watching, My Bids, Alerts and Account: every auction house on the platform, their auctions and lots, bidding with a maximum, your watchlist and bids, your card and invoices, and alerts on your lock screen the moment you are outbid. It is the same account and the same rules as the website — the server decides every price and every bid, and the app only shows you the answers.

Getting It

Right now the app is in testing through Apple's TestFlight: you get an email invitation, tap it on your iPhone, install the free TestFlight app if asked, and the Crossroad Sellers app installs from there. When it is released it will be on the App Store under the same name. An Android version comes later.

Signing In

Open the Account tab → Sign in (or Sign in at the top of Browse). A sheet slides up from the bottom and your iPhone asks whether the app may use crossroadsellers.com to sign in; tap Continue. The sheet is the website's own sign-in page, so it works exactly as on the website: your email, then your passkey (Face ID or Touch ID) or your password, and your second check if you have one. The app never sees your password; when the sheet closes you are signed in. Forgot your password? and Create an account are on that same sheet, exactly as on the website: a new account is your name, email, mobile number, date of birth and a password, then the six-digit code we email you. That is the platform account — one login for every auction house.

Finding a House and Its Auctions

The first screen lists every auction house, or shows them on a map (tap Map at the top). Tap a house for its auctions, a heart to follow it, and its address, hours and phone are on its page. Tap an auction for its lots; search and sort at the top.

Registering and Bidding

Every house approves its own bidders. On a lot you cannot bid on yet, the app says exactly why — Register to bid at this house, a card to save, a phone to confirm, a date of birth to confirm — and lets you do it right there. Once you are approved, Bid asks for the most you would pay; the site bids for you one step at a time and never shows anyone your maximum. Bid History, What it would cost at this price and the closing clock are the same figures the website shows.

The heart on a lot adds it to the Watching tab; the My Bids tab lists what you are bidding on at this house, with where you stand.

Alerts

After your first bid the app asks once whether to turn on alerts. Say yes and the notices you get by email — outbid, won, invoice ready, a reply to a question — also reach your lock screen. The same list is always on the Alerts tab, with the unread count on it. You can turn alerts off any time in the iPhone's Settings.

Paying, Your Card and Your Details

On the Account tab, Your Card saves a card through Stripe's own form (the card number never reaches us); Invoices lists what you have won at this house and pays an invoice in the app. Your Details holds your name, mobile number and shipping address — the same page as the website's, and a mobile number is required. Find my address suggests real addresses as you type, like the website's address box; your phone's keyboard can also offer the address from your own contact card. Following lists the houses you follow; Help is this help centre.

Questions About a Lot

At the bottom of a lot, Ask the House sends a question that a person at the house reads before anyone else sees it; answered questions show under your paddle number, never your name. See Asking a question about a lot.

A Lost or Sold Phone

Sign out from the phone on the Account tab → Sign out of this phone. If the phone is gone, sign out from the website: Your account → Security → Your phones lists every phone and signs one out at once — bidding and alerts stop on it, and the bids you placed stay. In the app, Your phones appears only when more than one phone is signed in. Any change to your passkeys, authenticator or recovery codes, a password reset, or closing your account signs every phone out. See Passwords and security.

What Opens the Website

The terms of use, the data policy, an auction's terms of sale and the password-reset link open the website — they are documents, and the website is where they live. Everything else is in the app.
