Closing Your Account

You can close your account once nothing is owed; records of past auctions are kept.

Under Your account → Privacy and Data, open Close Your Account and press Close My Account. It signs you out everywhere and stops all email. You cannot close while an invoice is unpaid, while an auction house still has items you paid for (not yet shipped or picked up), while you are winning a lot that is still open, or while you are the only administrator of an auction house.

Steps

  1. Your picture → Your account → the Privacy and Email tab → Close Your Account, at the bottom of the page.
  2. Type your password and press Close My Account. It signs you out everywhere and stops all email.

It is refused while an invoice is unpaid, while an auction house still has items you paid for, while you are winning a lot that is still open, or while you are the only administrator of an auction house (hand it to someone else first).

Closing removes your email address, phone number, addresses, date of birth and every way to sign in.

Records of auctions you took part in are kept, because they are the auction house's books and the evidence behind every result. Your name stays on those records; it is not published anywhere.
