Rating an Auction House
After you pay an invoice you can rate the house; ratings are blind until both sides have rated, and houses rate you too.
Once an invoice is paid, its page offers Rate This Auction House. Ratings are tied to a paid invoice, so every one comes from a real purchase.
Steps
- Account → Invoices → open a paid invoice → Rate This Auction House.
- Stars overall; optional stars for accuracy, communication and shipping or pickup; whether you would buy again; a review of up to 1,000 characters.
- Save. You can change it for 48 hours. It stays hidden until the house has rated you too, or 60 days pass.
What You Rate
Stars out of five overall, then optional stars for Item Accuracy, communication and Shipping or Pickup, whether you would buy from them again, and a written review of up to 1,000 characters. The review is public with your name and the auction it was from.
Blind Until Both Have Rated
Your rating stays hidden until the house has rated you too, or 60 days pass after your payment, whichever comes first. The house cannot see your stars before writing theirs, and you cannot see theirs, so nobody rates in revenge. You can change your rating for 48 hours after posting; then it is locked. Ratings close 60 days after payment.
Your Own Rating
Auction houses rate buyers after a purchase too: stars, plus whether you paid on time, collected or accepted delivery, and were easy to work with. You see only your star average, on your account page and under your role in the menu ("★ 4.9"); the details are for auction houses deciding whether to approve a registration. A house may rate an invoice that is unpaid 14 days after it was issued, so paying on time is what keeps the score up.
Reviews of a House
A house's average, sub-scores and reviews are on its About page, with the house's reply where it made one. A house with fewer than five ratings shows as New seller rather than an average.
Something Wrong with a Review
Every review has Report. Platform staff look at it and can hide a rating with a reason; a hidden rating counts for nothing. Neither side is ever required to rate.
